The meeting with Bence Gerlaki, State Secretary for Taxation, Consumer Protection and Trade, took place on October 2. APPLiA Hungary was represented by President Attila Gerzsei, Director General Fanni Mészáros, and Technical Instructor Tamás Madarász. The main topic of the meeting was the EU directive on the right to repair, which must be transposed into the legal systems of member states by July 31, 2026. The representatives of APPLiA Hungary emphasized that government support would be needed to launch training for household appliance service technicians in several locations across the country. They also offered their cooperation in creating a national database of repair technicians.
