Let’s refrigerate smarter!

We thought we could also do something to ensure that less food ends up in the bin in Hungary. That is why in 2019, we announced the Refrigerate smarter! campaign, in the framework of which we shared an anti-waste tip with our Facebook audience every week.

Components of the campaign

Calendar

We put a piece of good advice for each week in the calendar, with the help of which – we hope – we were able to reduce the amount of food waste. Food expert Balázs Bóza helped us phrase everything precisely.

Photography

Donát Kékesi and his team took wonderful photos for every page of our calendar and every one of our advices.

Facebook campaign

In 2019, our cover photo was the current page of the calendar every week, so our messages also reached our Facebook followers.

Regular maintenance of the fridge is important! Follow the insturctions of the manual!

Check the temperature of your fridge! Set the temperature to 4-6°C.

Good compost can be made of unused food for backyard plants!

Pack smartly! Place soft and fragile goods on the top and hard ones to the bottom!

Large amounts of meat should be packed and frozen in smaller units, not in one piece.

Dry fruits, it is a great way to preserve them.

You can make perfect sauce portions with an icecube tray for future meals from leftover soups and stews!

Nobody likes to eat the same meal for three days! Don’t cook more than what you will eat.

If you have bought to many rolls, freeze some of them! You can make them crispy again later in the oven in a couple of minutes!

Always label the food you put into the freezer: according to their content and storage date.
