The second national meeting of household appliance repair technicians took place on August 30, the last weekend of summer. The event, attended by more than a hundred people, was once again hosted by Szent József Technikum.
The first speaker of the morning program was Fanni Mészáros, managing director of APPLiA Hungary, who gave a presentation on legislative changes affecting the sector.
Péter Halász, the school’s director and APPLiA Hungary’s adult education expert, spoke about the opportunities offered by a shortened training course for household appliance service technicians. If the long-awaited legislative amendment allows for a significant expansion of the training intake, any representative of the profession will be able to obtain this professional qualification in a three-month course, subject to prior knowledge assessment. Péter Halász also informed the audience that the course will be available at their premises, but also at the Dunagáz Zrt. training center in Dorog.
Tamás Madarász gave several professional presentations to colleagues during the day. He also talked about what he plans for the APPLiA Certified Technician Program next year, as well as what will be added to the second volume of the technician’s textbook compared to the first edition. He also discussed the details of post-repair inspections and temperature measurement.
László Ali, service engineer at Electrolux Lehel Kft., gave a presentation on the importance of the report and the expert opinion, as well as the differences between the two documents and their proper application.
Parts supply is a key challenge for service activities. The main sponsors of this year’s Mechanics Day also introduced themselves and provided useful information to the mechanics community: ASWO’s Hungarian representative, Sini Kft, Família Kft, which operates the Orczy Parts store, and the latter’s partners, Högert and Vision Soft.
The morning program ended with a joint lunch and a group photo. In the afternoon, in addition to the presentations, there was a fun quiz and informal discussions.
