The EPREL database

EPREL, i.e. the European Product Database for Energy Labelling, was brought to life by the new Energy Labelling Framework Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2017/1369 of the European Parliament and of the Council).

There are two parts: one is public to the general public, the other is not (the latter is more detailed and contains more technical information on each product and is available to market surveillance authorities to assist them in their market surveillance work). Public information can be accessed through the energy labels: you can see a QR code on the new labels that you can scan with your mobile phone. The QR code will take us to your appliance’s datasheet, which provides useful information beyond the information on the energy label.

Apart from the energy label, we can also access and search the EPREL database on its own website.
